Cala Esmeralda - Schooner of Velacho The topsail schooner "Cala Esmeralda" was built in Majorca between 1916 and 1919. With an American style in terms of her figure and a most elegant line of sail. This schooner was one of the largest and most beautiful to be rigged in Majorca. After 1934 engines were incorporated into this type of schooner and they were used for the coastal trade up until the mid seventies.
