Ref.: RODE-00611
Nieuport 24 bis French fighter of the WWI period developed from its predecessor the Nieuport 24. Planes of this type had the tail assembly of an earlier configuration, previous to the one which was employed by the Nieuport 24. The type appeared in the middle of 1917, when most of the Nieuports were being replaced by the modern SPAD fighters which is why it had only limited combat use. Apart from France, the Nieuport 24bis was flown by the US, Britain, in Soviet Russia and Poland. The famous French ace Charles Nungesser flew a Nieuport 24bis in combat.
