Atlantic Tug

Characteristics

Assemble your 1:50 scale model of the Atlantic, a classic tall ship tugboat.

The Atlantic model kit contains high precision laser-cut board parts, fine woods, photo-etched parts, brass and cast iron: it has many details in chemical cutting to be more faithful to the original ship.

Likewise, the hull of the Atlantic tugboat is made of high quality ABS so it can be easily converted into an R/C model as it is more resistant and waterproof.

Not to mention that its interior is ready for the installation of the electrical system (not included).

The water cannons are designed to be usable (mechanism not included).

For the assembly you can follow our complete multimedia guide in DVD format with images and 3D renderings, step by step and in full color.

The kit does not contain printed instructions.

A naval jewel of 1,060 mm long, 600 mm high and 250 mm wide that will delight all modelers thanks to its stability in water, although it can also be displayed in any room with its fantastic base included in the kit.

Discover the Atlantic, a model made in wood and plastic of this tugboat whose design and parts are manufactured in Spain, and whose hull in high quality ABS is manufactured in France.

History

It is a faithful replica of the tugboats of the 70s and 80s.

It was an offshore tug, not a harbor tug, so it was prepared to withstand the most adverse weather conditions.

Its entire structure was designed to be stable in the water and very maneuverable, in order to be able to tow large vessels such as oil tankers or cruise ships in open waters.

Tugboats, in general, were born in the 19th century, navigation underwent a great revolution, the main factor being the introduction of mechanical propulsion.

As a consequence, ships gradually increased in size and displacement, losing in the process ease of maneuvering in docks and ports.
