History of

Germany manufactured some huge war machines in WWII, and few were more impressive than the six super-heavy Morser self-propelled howitzers that were manufactured by Rheinmetall-Borsig in 1940-1941. Weighing in at 124 tons and measuring 11.37m long, these siege mortars were fitted with either a 54cm- or 60cm-diameter short-barreled barrel. These weapons were known as the Gerat 041 and Gerat 040 respectively, and they were engaged in such operations as the invasion of the Soviet Union, the Battle for Sevastopol and the Warsaw Uprising.
