Historical Review
During WWII, the German army developed various kinds of self propelled guns which were used as anti-tank and infantry support weapons. Among them was the Wespe, which was produced from February 1942 until the end of the war. It used the Panzer II's small hull and was loaded with a huge 10.5cm gun. The style of the compact and highly effective German Self-Propelled Howitzer “Wespe” is realistically reproduced as a plastic assembly kit model. The fighting compartment and the gun shield area are precisely rendered and the main gun can be elevated/depressed and rotated even after assembly. Additional parts such as the ammunition racks, ammunition cases, wireless radio etc. provide the model with a realistic finish. Also included in the set are two figures whom are depicted with their hands in their pockets trying to keep warm.
